DVSA's "Standard Operating Procedure" for Examiners

These are the notes issued during Examiner Training Courses in order to ensure compliance to a central standard.
They're not meant to be seen as an Examiners Training Guide in order to turn ADIs into DVSA Examiners!
There are, however, interesting facts to be gleaned about Practical Test Procedure :

  • What if candidates can't read a number plate the first time they're asked to at the prescribed limit?
  • What about advisory speed limits? How will faults be assessed?  [p.59]
  • etc. etc.
Once you've read the DVSA Guide to Assessment and some 'essential' parts of this document, you'll start to apreciate how the DVSA amd its Examiners clearly bend over backwards to pass candidates...!

Please note that there have been just a few changes in April/June/July 2018 to the above,
but the document appears to be no longer released in .pdf format.
This is, therefore, the link to the gov.uk site for reading it on line.
